However, to make sure that you get the most out of your Leather Motorbike Clothes and that they fulfil your expectations, some care and maintenance should be invested by you otherwise there is the risk that they will lose their function and their service life can become drastically shortened. These are valid reasons for taking care of your Motorbike Leather Garments – for comfort, safety and a long life. Wet clothes should be allowed to dry airily and slowly at room temperatures. Leather clothes should never be dried in heat, like on a radiator or in a drier. Cobija provide complete guidline regarding Motorbike Leather & Textile Garments care.

Leather Garments:

Leather must never be allowed to dry out! Dry fibres become brittle and will tear quicker under extreme loads, like in an accident. To prevent this, leather should be greased regularly, to allow the fibres to keep their natural elasticity. If your leather becomes wet, allow it to dry at room temperature. (Never put leather in the dryer.) Then apply Paw People and Suede Protector. Buff suede with a soft towel to restore the nap.
If your garment has faux fur trim and the fur gets wet, dry it with a hair dryer set on the lowest temperature. Shake fur during the drying process, and periodically during wear to maintain loft and maximize appearance. If necessary, leather can be washed with a soft sponge and a mild soap solution or special leather soap. These are two measures, which prolong the service life of your leather clothes and also their capacity to resist the forces of nature.

Textile Garments:

Textile clothes should be washed at regular intervals, according to the product information. After every third washing, the impregnation should be renewed. The protectors must always be removed before washing. Polyester and polyamide in textile clothes melt at 240-260°C. Therefore, always keep them away from hot objects, like silencers or exhaust pipes.
